Small Rodeo of the Year!
Voted on by contestants and rodeo personnel, the Price County Rodeo is proud to be a two-time recipient (2022&2023) of the Great Lakes Circuit Small Rodeo of the Year award!
The Great Lakes Pro Rodeo Circuit is a part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, a nonprofit organization that recognizes circuit rodeos of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin. The top 12 contestants in each of eight events qualify to compete at the championship rodeo which has been held in Louisville, Kentucky since 1979 during the North American International Livestock Exposition. As contestants compete during the summer trying to make the Great Lakes Circuit Finals they have the opportunity to vote for rodeos who "stand out" to them for the Rodeo of the Year Award. There are three categories to the award: Large, Medium, & Small Rodeo of the Year. The category is based on added money that the contestants compete for. Some main points that contestants base their votes off of are: Community Involvement, Hospitality, Committee Dedication, Safe Competition Ground, Adequate Parking, Proper Arena Equipment, and such.
